For example, the Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) visa may require additional employment experience beyond the skills assessment requirement.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><strong><span class=\"html-span xexx8yu xyri2b x18d9i69 x1c1uobl x1hl2dhg x16tdsg8 x1vvkbs x3nfvp2 x1j61x8r x1fcty0u xdj266r xat24cr xm2jcoa x1mpyi22 xxymvpz xlup9mm x1kky2od\">2. <\/span>Does VETASSESS accept part-time or casual employment?<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">Yes. VETASSESS accepts both casual and part-time employment as long as the applicant works at least 20 hours per week.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">If the work is less than full-time (38 hours per week), VETASSESS applies a pro-rata calculation. For example:<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">1 year full-time = 38 hours\/week<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Working 20 hours\/week would require approximately 2 years to equal 1 year of full-time experience.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">3. How does VETASSESS verify work experience?<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">VETASSESS assesses employment based on the documents provided by the applicant, including:<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u2022 Statements of service<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u2022 Employment contracts<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u2022 Supporting evidence<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">In some cases, VETASSESS may also:<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u2022 conduct a technical interview,<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u2022 contact the nominated referee, or<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u2022 request clarification regarding job duties.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Full-time employment is defined as 38 hours per week, while part-time employment must be at least 20 hours weekly to be considered.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><span class=\"html-span xexx8yu xyri2b x18d9i69 x1c1uobl x1hl2dhg x16tdsg8 x1vvkbs x3nfvp2 x1j61x8r x1fcty0u xdj266r xat24cr xm2jcoa x1mpyi22 xxymvpz xlup9mm x1kky2od\">4. <\/span>Can multiple short employment periods be combined?<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">Yes. Applicants can combine multiple periods of employment if they:<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u2022 meet the total required duration, and<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u2022 satisfy the minimum working hours requirement.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">For example, several different jobs may be combined to meet a one-year experience requirement.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">However, very short employment periods, such as one month alone, are generally insufficient.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><span class=\"html-span xexx8yu xyri2b x18d9i69 x1c1uobl x1hl2dhg x16tdsg8 x1vvkbs x3nfvp2 x1j61x8r x1fcty0u xdj266r xat24cr xm2jcoa x1mpyi22 xxymvpz xlup9mm x1kky2od\">5. <\/span>Are RPL qualifications accepted?<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">Yes. Qualifications obtained through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) are accepted if:<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u2022 the qualification has been fully completed,<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u2022 an official certificate and transcript have been issued.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">VETASSESS may request additional evidence to verify the authenticity of the qualification and training provider.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Incomplete or in-progress RPL qualifications cannot be used for assessment.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">6. Does work experience need to be gained after completing the qualification?<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">No. Under the DAMA assessment pathway, work experience can be obtained:<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u2022 before,<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u2022 during, or<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u2022 after completing a qualification.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">This makes DAMA more flexible compared to some full skills assessment pathways that require post-qualification employment.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><strong>7. Can work experience used for RPL also count toward visa requirements?<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">Yes. If your qualification was obtained through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), the same work experience may also be used to meet DAMA visa work experience requirements, provided it aligns with the nominated occupation and meets the required duration and working hours.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">8. Is Year 12 equivalent to a Certificate II qualification?<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">No. Year 12 (secondary education) is not part of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and cannot be used to meet a Certificate II requirement.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">However, some DAMA occupations only require secondary education, so Year 12 may still be accepted depending on the occupation.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><strong>9. How long does a DAMA Skills Assessment take?<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">The standard processing time is typically 2\u20133 weeks. Applications may be processed faster if all required documents are submitted correctly and the application is decision-ready. DAMA assessments are generally completed more quickly than full skills assessments.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">10. Are concessions or exemptions available under DAMA?<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">VETASSESS does not grant concessions or exemptions. Any concessions available under a DAMA agreement are determined by the Designated Area Representative (DAR) for the relevant region. VETASSESS is responsible only for assessing skills.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">11. Is a skills assessment mandatory for DAMA employer sponsorship?<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">This depends on the requirements of the relevant DAMA region. While most occupations assessed by VETASSESS require a skills assessment, applicants should confirm the specific requirements directly with the relevant DAR.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><strong>12. Is self-employment accepted under DAMA?<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">Yes.
