Eligibility Criteria for Subclass 186 Visa

To be eligible for the Subclass 186 visa, you must:

1. Nominated by an approved Australian employer


You must be nominated by an Australian employer to work in their business.

2. Occupation on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL)

Your occupation must be featured on the relevant Skilled Occupation List issued by the Australian Government.

3. Positive Skills Assessment


You must possess a valid Skills Assessment from the relevant assessing authority for your nominated occupation.

4. Meet health and character requirements

You must undergo health and character checks in accordance with the regulations set by the Australian Department of Home Affairs.

Subclass 186 visa Streams

Direct Entry stream

 

  • A permanent residency pathway for skilled workers nominated by an Australian employer to live and work in Australia immediately.

Temporary Residence Transition stream

  • A permanent residency pathway for individuals currently working in Australia on specific temporary visas and nominated by their employer for a permanent position.
