VETASSESS is an assessing authority authorised by the Australian Department of Home Affairs to conduct skills assessments across a broad range of professional occupations (more than 341 occupations) and trade occupations (27 occupations). 1. How are professional occupation groups classified?

VETASSESS classifies professional occupations into Groups A, B, C, D and E, based on the estimated skill level under the ANZSCO framework.
Each group has different requirements for qualifications and work experience. Specifically:
- Groups A and B: Occupations at Skill Level 1, generally requiring a qualification equivalent to AQF Level 7 or higher.
- Groups C and E: Occupations at Skill Level 2, generally requiring a qualification equivalent to AQF Level 5 or higher.
- Group D: Occupations at Skill Level 2, generally requiring a qualification equivalent to AQF Level 3 or higher.

2. How long is a VETASSESS Skills Assessment outcome valid?

A suitable Skills Assessment outcome issued by VETASSESS is valid for 3 years from the date of issue. For visa-related requirements, you should refer to and confirm the applicable requirements with the Australian Department of Home Affairs.
